Huge HS hoops game Tonight: Major Metro Matchup with Dudley Panthers at Page Pirates…(On AM950 and on the Web)

HS Hoops Tonight:
Southeast Guilford at Western Guilford 4:30
High Point Central at High Point Andrews 6pm
High Point Christian at Westchester Country Day 6pm(Old schedules showed 7pm, but this game will start at 6pm)…….
AND: DUDLEY AT PAGE 6:30pm

Pre-game Dudley at Page on AM950 radio and at www.wpetam950.com is coming at around 7:30 and the tip is set for 8pm……
Dudley at Page….Mac Morris Gym with the girls at 6:30 and boys set for 8pm….JV action will get started at 4pm…..Wide-opne game ahead for the boys with big guards in size and what they mean to their teams….Jackson Kent(Page), a tall guard at 6’5, Reggie Dillard(Dudley), a tall one at guard standing 6’3 or better….Wing man for Dudley, DJ Alston(Dudley), a wing man, is right at 6’5….You have the smaller and quick guards with Page possessing two very quick ones in Bryson Fonville and Frank Eaves…..Fonville, with 11 points, had what may have been his best game of the year against Smith back on Thursday….Eaves sat out the Smith game with a tweaked knee and his return to lineup would be very big for the Page Pirates….Lance Brown gives Page much speed and mobility off of the Pirate bench…..Sam Hunt gives the Dudley Panthers the flow they need from the point guard spot and he also has a deadly outside shot and he is a lefty that can heat up in a hurry and Dillard’s outside shot will need to falling to give Dudley an edge in this key battle at the Pirates’ place tonight….

The game may get settled when the two teams decide to go inside and see who has the edge there….James Summers and Justin Conner are not as tall and large as Brandon Clyburn and Daris Workman, but is not to say that James and Justin can’t hold there on in and around the lane…..Dillon Sykes may be an X-factor for Page, as he gives the Pirates life and energy whenever he is in the game and he always tries to do the right thing in order to help his team out…….

Should be a great battle and we will have to see if the Page Pirate fans can make a difference at home in the Mac Morris Gym this evening…….Page won the Pizza Hut Tournament back in December at the Greensboro Coliseum and this gives Dudley a chance to come in and take down the Pizza Hut Champions…..The real focus on this game though is the key fact that is a key and crucial battle for first place in the Metro 4-A Conference…..Page has one conference loss, Dudley has two, Grimsley has two, Smith has two losses and as you can tell, the race for the top spot is tight…….

Should be a great game tonight at Page, with the tip-off set for 8pm……

  1. I was the Page game with Smith on Thursday and she still had the cast on her hand….Still out as of then….

  2. My original comment had nothing to do with “if or can Page win without Paris”. I am not a Page or Dudley supporter, graduate or whatever. I just like good basketball and seeing good players play the game. I only go see a few select games per week whether it is college, high school or middle school. When given the choice of which game to see – I will look toward the games that at least have 1, 2 or even 3 “great” players on the floor because while I love seeing great team basketball – I truely enjoy seeing excellence individual talent. I do not mean individual talent that does not play within the team concept but I mean a good team that has 1 or more exceptional players which makes the game exciting. Reggie Dillard does that for me with the Dudley boys and Paris does that for me with the Page girls.

I also do not think that the Page girls have a prayer of beating Dudley without Paris if you really want to know what I think.

  3. Page may be able to win without Paris, but they sure haven’t done it much. Word is cast comes off Wednesday and she’ll be back. And while I appreciate the role the other girls play Paris is a D1 recruit as a freshmen.
