UNCG drops heartbreaker to Chattanooga in double overtime, 111-110

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Chattanooga forced a UNCG turnover and converted it into a fast break layup with 15 seconds left in double overtime and the Spartans couldn’t get their final shot to fall with seven seconds left as they fell to the Mocs, 111-110, on Thursday night in McKenzie Arena. It was a game that saw numerous individual and school records fall for both teams.

The game set a new school record for the most points in the Division I era for UNCG, breaking the old mark of 108 set against Elon in 2004 in a triple overtime game. Also, the 221 points scored by the two teams is the highest point total between two Division I teams this season.

The Spartans fell to 3-16 overall and 3-6 in the Southern Conference with the loss, while the North Division-leading Mocs improved to 12-10 on the year and 8-2 in the league.
