Guilford men run fast in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Guilford College’s 3200-meter relay team placed fourth
among 11 squads in Friday’s first day of the Liberty University Open. The
Quakers’ unit of David Cason, Dylan Skinner, Derick Kosgei and John Michael
Chelminski had the top finish among four ODAC schools with a time of
8:12.84. It was also the fastest NCAA Division III team in the race.

Individually, the Quakers’ Chad Norton placed sixth among 17 contestants in
the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:52.54. He had the top Division III finish
in the race.

Guilford’s Judia Holton threw the weight 9.10 meters (29’ 10.25”), which
placed 31st among 39 throwers.

The bulk of competition resumes Saturday(today) at Liberty’s Tolsma Indoor Track
Complex.
