At College Basketball’s Most Hallowed Venues

On February 11 and 12, a group of the nation’s very best high school basketball players will
showcase their skills on the home courts of Duke and North Carolina on back-to-back nights. The
immediate future of those two elite programs will be on display, with a combined five signed
recruits taking the court.

At Cameron Indoor Stadium, the nation’s most storied high school program, Oak Hill, will match a
stable full of big-time players — including Duke signee Quinn Cook — against fellow Blue Devil
recruit Marshall Plumlee and Christ School. In the nightcap, Blue Devil signee Michael Gbinije
will bring his smooth versatility and suit up against tough New York foe Our Savior. Jevon
Thomas is a talented junior guard committed to St. John’s, and the Long Island club also boasts
emerging junior big man Chris Obekpa.

Shifting to the Dean Dome on Saturday, Oak Hill will tip it off against Our Savior. In the main
event of the evening, a pair of future Tar Heels will do battle. Both James McAdoo — son of
former Old Dominion star Ronnie McAdoo — and P.J. Hairston are expected to be McDonald’s
All-Americans, and will put their wares on display to the delight of the Tar Heel faithful and hoops
recruiting fans in attendance.

  1. Wasn’t Westchester supposed to play Oak Hill in this event? Kahny is such a wimp….one injury and he backs out of all tough games. Does nothing but deprive his other players of a great opportunity. Try to coach for once!
