Guilford women win big in Virginia and get out of Lynchburg just in the neck of time…

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Gabby Oglesby (Winston-Salem, N.C./Mount Tabor) scored 18
points and added nine rebounds in Guilford College’s 83-50 Old Dominion
Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win at Randolph College Tuesday night.

The victory gave Guilford (11-7, 7-6 ODAC) a sweep of the season series with
the Wildcats (0-19, 0-14 ODAC) and marked the Quakers’ fourth win in five
outings.

Oglesby had 12 points by halftime, which helped the Quakers grab a 44-26
halftime lead. Guilford knocked down four of its five first-half trifectas
during a 20-2 run that turned a two-point edge into a 39-19 advantage late
in the half. The Wildcats never recovered and trailed by at least 20 points
for all but 25 seconds in the second half.

Morgan King (Wilmington, N.C./New Hanover) added 16 points and six rebounds
for the Quakers. Logan Terry (Archdale, N.C./Trinity) and Jazlyn Gibbs
(Greensboro, N.C./Southeast Guilford (USC-Aiken)) both contributed 13
points. Terry matched her career scoring high. Guilford enjoyed a 48-30 edge
in rebounds and limited Randolph to less than 30-percent shooting from the
floor.

Brandie Witt led Randolph with 16 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Guilford hosts Randolph-Macon College Friday (2/4) in a 7:00 p.m. ODAC game.

  1. This is the second pun you have made about lynching. I’m sure some will think that I’m being too sensitive about this, but I just feel it is in poor taste. That’s my two cents.

  2. Actually this is my third….You missed one and I will make this the last….

I used to live in Lynchburg and was just trying to rekindle some old talk….

We have put this one to rest…..

  3. Kind of an old west theme tonight with SWG Cowboys and Lynchburg, in a Clint Eastwood sort of motiff….

But, we will chill and leave the “Hill City” of LVA, to rest….
