National Signing continues with Willis at SWG, going to Wake Forest…

Just got the call from Dennis White, who was over at Southwest Guilford today, for Greensborosports.com and the ink is dry…..Airyn Willis has signed with Wake Forest University and he will play wide receiver for the Demon Deacons….

Widespread talk about Airyn’s decision…..He was leaning toward and had committed to Georgia Tech, where he would have been playing quarterback, but he changed his mind and now he will take his game to Winston-Salem and go to work in the ACC, for the WFU Demon Deacons…..

The football people that I talk to feel this will be a better fit for Airyn at Wake and that he has made a very good decision……

Good luck to Airyn Willis and congratulations to his family and friends in the SWG Cowboys’ system……..

  1. Wake also picked up a florida QB Kevin Sousa he threw for 2239 yds, 13 td’s and 13 Int’s. GO FIGURE. Highly rated QB? What’s up with that pick? QB rating of 84. Maybe they have some magic dust at Wake that will turn him into Cam Newton.

  2. They pick this kid up and they have a QB in there own back yard. HPC’s Drew Adams only went 222 of 348 for a .638 completion pct. , 3300yards , 253.8 a game , 23 TD’s , 11Int’s, 104 QB rating. makes you wonder…. Sometimes it helps to look at the local paper.

  3. From what we have been hearing, Drew Adams is looking to go to N.C. State……Strictly Academics……He was a great football player, but he is even stronger in academics than he is in athletics and that is saying a lot, because he was an outstanding quarterback….Excellent decision maker and that will pay off for him in his academic endeavors……

  4. Luke may be looking to go the academics-only route too….Very intelligent young man, but you never know, he might have an ODAC announcement up his sleeve…..Might have to get Mike Ellis, Jamestown News, on this one…..

  5. Here’s another to add to your list for the I DUNNO group: Derek Grant?? 1st team all state on NC preps, 2nd in the state in receiving, 1st team all area, all conference for 3 years, 1400 plus yrds..almost 90 catches and 14 TD’s..where was he on signing day? He’s been consistant for 3 years.. I know it’s not an academic issue??
