Chuck Amato wants Charlotte 49ers’ football job and Rod Broadway(Grambling State) says, “me too”…..

“Chuck the Chest”, that’s still Chuck Amato the former N.C. State football coach and player, is very interested in becoming the first-ever football coach for the Charlotte 49ers….Amato was the head coach in Raleigh and an assistant at Florida State….

Rod Broadway, a former UNC Tar Heel football player and the current head coach for the Grambling State Tigers, plus he is the man that just turned down the N.C. A&T Aggies, in their efforts to hire him as their new coach, well RB has shown an interest in that 49ers’ job too…..

Lots of interest, with over 100 serious applicants and CLICK HERE to see more about what Chuck Amato is saying and what are others are doing in their attempts to land this coveted new posititon….I had heard at one time that E.Z. Smith, the highly successful high school coach at Concord High School near Charlotte, was going after this job and if he got it, he would bring in Tom Knotts, formerly at Charlotte Independence, to be his chief assistant…

  1. UNCC would be crazy to not hire Chuck.

It wouldn’t be a long term hire or make them a national champ……but his enthusiasm and vigor is what you need when starting up a program. Forget the end at State…..look at place now compared to when he arrived. Start with a bang UNCC!

  2. Think how many pairs of green oakleys and green patent leather coaches’ shoes he would wear! It might be a good hire, but at 64/65, there is age discrimination (no matter what people say)–he will never get that job!!!!
