Calvary Baptist 27

Just got the score in and Greensboro Day School Bengal Coach Freddy Johnson picked up career-win #800 tonight, as his Bengals defeated Calvary Baptist in Winston-Salem….

Congratulations to Coach Johnson on this milestone win and this for a busy year for our local coaches with Coach Johnson hitting 800, UNCG’s Lynn Agee checked in with #600 tonight and Coach Robert Kent at Page passed the 500 mark earlier this season….Coach David Price at Dudley has eclipsed 700 wins in his long coaching career, at Dudley and earlier he was at Stoneville…..

  1. Couldn’t make the game but heard they won by about 40 points. Looks like we are definitely peaking at the right time. This is the same Calvary team that beat High Point Christian last friday night. Congrats Coach Johnson on 800!!

  2. Congrats to coach Johnson on an amazing accomplishment.

Andy, dave price won his 500th game a few years back….. I know he isn’t that far ahead of Robert Kent.

  3. I’ll do some checking….Maybe Coach Price is at 600-plus wins….I thought the announcements at Dudley said he was at 600…I’ll check on it….

Again, congrats to Coach Johnson on his big night…..

  4. I did some checking. Coach Johnson is already the all time winningest private school coach in North Carolina. The public school record is 818. Looks like he should easily achieve that mark next year.

    Victories: 818 – Harvey Reid, Wilson Fike (818-206, 1955-91)
Victories at one school: 751 – Harvey Reid, Wilson Frederick Douglass, consolidated into Elm City which
    consolidated into Wilson Fike
