E.Forsyth 7 4 16 2 – 29

Ragsdale rode the hot hand of junior Ally Darnell in the third quarter to
capture a Piedmont Triad Conference win on the road last night. Darnell who
was scoreless heading to the third quarter connected on three long range
treys and put 11 third quarter points as Ragsdale captured the 40 – 29 win.
The Tigers were trailing 17 – 16 before Darnell scored her team’s next 11
points over a 2 minute 30 seconds span to give Ragsdale a 27 – 19 lead.
East Forsyth would cut the lead to 28 – 27 after three quarters, but then
went cold in the fourth, only getting one bucket in the final eight minutes.

Darnell led Ragsdale in scoring with 14 points, while Ciara Jackson and
Mikayla Pettyjohn each scored 8. East Forsyth was led by Mia Rudd with 10
points.

BOYS:

Ragsdale 10 16 10 19 – 55

E Forsyth 18 19 9 25 – 71

Ragsdale fell behind early and never led in the game, as the host East
Forsyth Eagles soared to a 77 – 55 win in K-Vegas last night. The Eagles
rode the hot hand of Chrishon Gwyn who ended up with 23 points to get
revenge for the defeat last week on the Tigers home court. Ragsdale got
within three points at 18 – 15 early in the second quarter but struggled to
stop the Eagles on the defensive end and fell behind by 11 at 37 – 26 at the
half. They never got closer than eight points in the second half.

Ragsdale was led in scoring by Tyquan Roberts who had 21 points. Benaiah
Wise was also in double figures with 11. East Forsyth had three players in
double figures and nine different players scored for the Eagles. Gwyn with
23 was followed by Craig Hinton with 13 and Larry Curry with 10.

Ragsdale falls to 5 – 5 in the PTC while East Forsyth improves to 3 – 7.
Ragsdale hosts Glenn tonight while East Forsyth is at home against NW
Guilford.

    Horrible loss for Ragsdale!

To tigerfan: you are way off base. Not sure what you base your comments on…probably someone who sits on the bench or doesn’t go to games. Would rather sit on boards like this and pretend to be an expert.

    Yankeeclipper8,
You obviously aren’t in the stands listening to everyone, meaning players’ parents and other fans voice their “expert” opinions about this coach. Wonder why all the basketball talent keeps leaving Ragsdale?!

Not to make excuses but the Piedmont Triad is a very competitive conference top to bottom. Players have to be ready to play every night. No nights off in this conference.

East Forsyth just beat the same Parkland team by 18 last week that beat SW. Parkland also came in 3rd in the Frank Spence.

Let’s hope Ragsdale comes ready to play against Glenn tonight. Will take a team effort and everyone in their right mind to win. Still time in the season to make a statement.

I believe most of the teams in conference are capable of a playoff run.

    Conference tournament should be interesting.
