GIRLS:

Ragsdale 11 12 11 16 – 50
Glenn scored the first basket of the game to take a 2 – 0 lead, but that
would turn out to be their only lead of the night. Ragsdale rode the hot
shooting of junior Ally Darnell and the strong inside game of senior Ciara
Jackson to record the 50 – 31 victory.
After that opening basket, Glenn was only able to get one more point in the
opening quarter as the Lady Tigers went on to take an 11 – 3 lead after one
and then gradually built their lead to double digits. Jackson made the most
of her Senior Night game by scoring 19 points. Jackson and sophomore Selena
Ladoza also controlled the boards, blocking shots and pulling down rebounds.
Darnell ended up with 18 points for Ragsdale, as she connected on 6 three
pointers. (Ragsdale: 10-13, 5-6)
Glenn’s leading scorer, Deonna Young, got in early foul trouble. She picked
up her fourth foul with 1:41 left in the second quarter and did not return
to the game until the fourth quarter. Young ended up with 14 points to lead
the Lady Bobcats. (Glenn: 3-13, 1-9)
BOYS:
Glenn 6 9 16 27 – 58
Ragsdale 11 14 18 26 – 69
Ragsdale jumped out to a 7 – 0 lead in the opening minutes of the game and
never trailed, before finally putting the eleven point victory in the books
at 69 – 58.
Down by 10 at halftime, Glenn had shot the ball poorly in the first half.
They came out in a full court press to start the second half and trapped the
ball once Ragsdale got across half court, but the Tigers opened the third
quarter on an 11 – 2 run to expand the lead to 19 at 36 – 17. At that point
the pressure began to have an effect and the Bobcats scored the game’s next
12 points to get within 7. Benaiah Wise answered for the Tigers with a
three and Ragsdale got two baskets from Daniel Kanakanui in the last 15
seconds of the third to get back up by 12. Glen could not get within double
digits throughout the fourth quarter as Ragsdale always had an answer.
Benaiah Wise led Ragsdale with 15 points. Eric Carter was also in double
figures with 14 as was Tyquan Roberts with 10. Roberts was key for Ragsdale
in breaking the press as Glenn did not have a big man who could stop Roberts
in bringing the ball up court. Roberts was always the outlet for passes to
get the ball across halfcourt. Roberts and Sharwynn McGee dominated on the
boards, as Roberts pulled down 14 rebounds and McGee collected 13.

Tyler Lee led the Bobcats in scoring with 22 points with 15 of them coming
in the fourth quarter. Chris Simmons was also in double figures with 11.
