GREENSBORO, N.C. – Josh Pittman (Archdale, N.C./Trinity) scored 16 of his
game-high 27 points in the second half to power Guilford College past
visiting Washington and Lee University Wednesday, 68-57, in an Old Dominion
Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball game.

Guilford junior Justin Stafford (Winston-Salem, N.C./Calvary Baptist)
matched his career high with 12 points off the bench and grabbed a game- and
personal-best six rebounds as the Quakers (15-7, 9-4 ODAC) won for the
10thtime in 12 games. Stafford had five offensive rebounds in the
game.

The Generals (13-9, 5-8 ODAC) shot a blistering 66.7 percent (14-21) from
the field in the first half and grabbed a 31-30 halftime advantage. Kyle
Bond’s (Boxborough, Mass./Brimmer and May) layup 3:27 into the second half
gave the guests a 35-33 lead, but Washington and Lee’s shooters cooled as
the Quakers reeled off 11 of the game’s next 13 points to take a 44-37 edge.

Guilford’s lead grew to 12 with 4:21 left on a T.C. Anderson (Cary,
N.C./Green Hope) free throw. Jeremy Adkins’ (Huntingdon, W. Va./Spring
Valley) three-pointer drew the Generals back to within 56-49 with 3:44 to
play, but Guilford secured the win with solid free-throw shooting down the
stretch. Pittman made nine of 10 free throws in the final 1:47.

Guilford junior Gabriel Lowder (Yadkinville, N.C./North Forsyth) chipped in
with 10 points off the bench and classmate Brad Monroe (Asheboro,
N.C./Eastern Randolph) contributed eight points and a game-high six rebounds
for Guilford. The Quakers shot 54.5 percent in the second half and committed
just seven turnovers. Guilford’s 11 offensive boards led to 17 second-chance
points.

Junior guard Jon Guest (West Hartford, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford) made his
first seven shots before missing and finished with a team-high 14 points for
Washington and Lee. Adkins added 10 points and J.D. Ey (Charlotte,
