Greensboro College baseball downed at War Memorial Stadium

Greensboro, N.C. — Hampden-Sydney College defeated Greensboro College, 11-1, at War Memorial Stadium on Tuesday. GC dropped to 0-5 and H-SC improved to 5-2.

Matt Irwin (Asburn, VA/Stone Bridge) went with 1-4 with a run scored to lead GC batters. The Pride tallied in the first inning after Michael Cobb (Union, NC/Union County High School) hit a sacrifice fly to score Irwin.

On the mound, Ramel Graham (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) started, tossed four innings, allowed two runs and took the defeat for GC.

Herbie Williams went 4-5 with a double and 5 RBI to lead the visitors. James Shahayda started on the hill, threw six innings and got the win for the Tigers.

GC plays at Guilford tomorrow. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.

  1. That is 16 straight loses for the Pride since Aker took over……when we gonna look for a new coach or who would be a good replacement??
