ROANOKE, Va. – Senior Lauren LeFevers scored 24 points, including four free
throws in the final 27 seconds of Guilford College’s 78-75 Old Dominion
Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win at Hollins University Tuesday.

The tightly contested game featured 13 lead changes and five ties. Kayla
Adams’ (Rural Hall, N.C./North Forsyth) three-pointer with 1:29 left gave
Guilford (14-9, 10-8 ODAC) the lead for good after Hollins (6-17, 3-15 ODAC)
erased a 13-point second-half deficit.

Guilford led 35-34 at halftime and outscored Hollins, 19-7, over the opening
six minutes of the second half. The Quakers’ Gabby Oglesby (Winston-Salem,
N.C./Mount Tabor) scored 10 of her 22 points during the run, but Hollins
bounced back with nine straight points.

Emmie Wright’s three-pointer with 4:23 remaining gave Hollins a 67-66 lead.
The teams traded baskets over the next three minutes before Phillips made
three free throws with 1:42 left, which gave Hollins a 72-70 edge, its last
lead of the game.

Guilford’s LeFevers added 10 rebounds and five assists in a strong
all-around game. Oglesby tallied eight rebounds and three blocks with her 22
points. Morgan King chipped in with 12 points and a career-high 15 rebounds.
The Quakers shot 50 percent from the floor, their second-highest shooting
percentage of the season.
