Greensboro College women win regular season title, now (24-0)

Winchester, Va. — Danielle Duncan (Greensboro, NC/Ragsdale) had 20 points and 11 rebounds as Greensboro College defeated Shenanodah, 64-55, on Friday. With the win GC improved to 24-0, 17-0 in the USA South, secured the top seed–and home court advantage–in next week’s conference tournament. GC is also the USAS regular season champion.

Duncan was 9-22 from the field and posted her 10th double-double of the year. Bianca Richburg (Hillsborough, NC/Orange County) had 14 points and Nikki Wilborn (Graham NC/Graham) added 13 for GC. The Pride led 33-29 at the break. SU cut the GC lead to 60-55 with 3:03 left but got no closer.

Sierra Edwards and Mandy Johnston both had 14 points for Shenandoah (12-12, 8-9). The Pride won the battle of the boards, 45-39.

The Pride closes conference regular season play–with perhaps its toughest test of the year–at CNU on Saturday.
