Both regular season matchups between these teams went into overtime and both times
in triple digits. This time around the Piedmont Triad 4A tournament chapionship was
at stake. The Cowboys came into the matchup without their leading scorer Jordan
Hanner due after breaking his wrist in practice the night before, and also a still
banged up starting point guard. The game started out with the Cowboys going up early
by 7 a couple of times, but Parkland responded and the first ended tied at 15. The
second quarter was back and forth with Parkland heading into halftime with a slim
36-34 lead. The 3rd quarter was where the Cowboys really fell into an offensive
funk. They only mustered 12 points but at the same time held Parkland to 9 and had a
46-45 lead. The final frame was similar for the Cowboys with only 10 points while
Parkland shot 16 free-throws alone and pulled out a tough 66-56 victory. Parkland
was lead by Miles Bowman and Antonio Robinson with 27 and 19 respectively. Southwest
was lead by Terrell Leach and Andrew Bostic with 12 points apiece. Southwest is
still ranked #1 as the priority seed for the State Playoffs and will host Reynolds
on Monday night.

  • come on son said,

Jordan Hanner did not break his wrist he has a mild fracture in his left hand (not his shooting hand) out for at least 6 weeks.

  • fan said,

A fracture is by definition a crack in the bone…which in most cases are worst than breaks…fyi

  • come on son said,

    what’s your point

  • go tigers said,

A fracture is considered a break. I think that is the point. Bottom line is this is very unfortunate. I have enjoyed watching him play as well as the whole team. Good luck to you guys in the playoffs. You have had a great season. Don’t let it end.
