DAVIDSON, N.C. – Clint Moore(Grimsley HS) went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, two runs scored and two RBI, but it was not enough as the Army baseball team suffered a 7-4 setback to Georgetown on Sunday afternoon at Wilson Field on the campus of Davidson College.

Game Notes: Army’s all-time record versus Georgetown falls to 16-4 … Clint Moore was the only Army player to hit safely in all four games this weekend … Moore’s 43 career doubles are the third most in Academy history … he needs just five more to become Army’s all-time leader.

WEST POINT, N.Y. – As the Army baseball team prepares to embark upon the 2011 season, Black Knight standouts Clint Moore and Kevin McKague were named two of the top 50 seniors in college baseball by Baseball America magazine.

Moore, the team’s senior shortstop, was tabbed as the seventh best senior in the country by the magazine in its most recent issue. McKague, a dual position threat who excels as a power-hitting first baseman and as one of the top relievers in nation, was selected as the 29th best senior in the nation.

Moore, who was also projected as the Patriot League Player of the Year by the publication, was listed alongside McKague as the Patriot League’s top two 2011 draft prospects.

Moore, McKague and senior Ben Koenigsfeld were named to Baseball America’s preseason All-Patriot League team as well.

Moore, who is closing in on several of Army’s all-time records, is primed for a big senior season after earning his third all-conference selection last year.

Last season, Moore ranked among the Black Knights’ leaders in home runs (seven), triples (four), doubles (eight) and RBI (33).
