Pickard(Page) and Duncan(Ragsdale HS) lead Pride women to Round One victory in USA South Tourney

Greensboro, N.C. — Chevena Pickard (Greensboro, NC/Page) and Danielle Duncan (Greensboro, NC/Ragsdale) had 20 points a-piece as Greensboro College defeated Peace College, 83-47, on Tuesday night. The top-seeded Pride advanced to face #4 Methodist on Friday in Greensboro.

GC improved to 25-1.Peace ends its season at 10-16.

Pickard, a freshman, was 10-12 from the field and led GC to 49-percent shooting (35-71). Duncan added 11 rebounds and recorded her 11th double-double of the year. Bianca Richburg (Hillsborough, NC/Orange County) also posted a double-double with 15 points and a game-best 11 rebounds.

The Pride led 46-24 at the break. GC forced 21 turnovers. Senior Nikki Wilborn (Graham NC/Graham) had 11 assists, seven steals and nine points. The home team had the edge in rebounds, 49-24.

Karissa Herring netted a game-high 24 points for the Pacers.
