FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its All-Conference awards for women’s basketball. Greensboro College earned seven honors, including two major awards and two first team recipients.

Chevena Pickard (Greensboro, NC/Page), a freshman guard, was tabbed rookie of the year. She is leading all rookies by averaging 11.0 points per game, and collecting 62 steals. She is averaging 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest, while ranking ninth in the Conference with a 69.3 free throw shooting percentage. Pickard earned Third Team All-Conference accolades to go along with four USA South Rookie of the Week honors this winter.

Coach Randy Tuggle(Northwest Guilford HS), in his second season as the head of The Pride, earns his first career coach of the year honor. He took his team to the program’s fifth regular season title in the last seven years. Tuggle led a remarkable turnaround, as Greensboro went from a 6-12 USA South record last season to a 17-1 Conference mark this winter. Additionally, The Pride are currently nationally ranked 13th and hold a 25-1 overall record. Tuggle takes his team into the semifinals of the USA South Women’s Basketball Tournament as the top seed.

Danielle Duncan (Greensboro, NC/Ragsdale) and Nikki Wilborn (Graham NC/Graham) were picked to the USA South’s first team. A junior, Duncan averages 21.3 points and 9.4 rebounds each game. She has been named to the D3Hoops.com team of the week twice, and was picked USAS player of the week five times. Duncan has posted 11 double-doubles this season.

Wilborn, a senior guard, averages 14.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4 assists and 4.0 steals per game. She had back-to-back triple-doubles earlier this month, earned USAS player of the week honors and was picked to the D3hoops team of the week. Wilborn is the only NCAA Division III player to record two triple-doubles this year.

Sophomore Bianca Richburg (Hillsborough, NC/Orange County) earned two awards. She was an honorable mention all conference pick and was the team’s representative on the USAS All-Sportsmanship team. Richburg scores 9.7 points and pulls down 7.0 rebounds each outing.
