If you had a vote and here at the site, you do, and who is your choice for ACC men’s basketball Coach of the Year?????

Do you go with North Carolina’s Roy Williams, or Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski or maybe Florida State’s Leonard Hamilton???

Williams took UNC from the NIT, to right back in the hunt for the ACC regular season crown, as the Heels and Duke currently stand tied for first at (12-2)…

Coach K took his Duke team from the NCAA National Championship, right back to #1 this season and the Blue Devils are strongly in the mix for a #1 seed, as March Madness approaches….

Leonard Hamliton has the Florida State Seminoles at 20 wins(20-8/10-4) as they prepare to host North Carolina tonight….

Who is your Coach of the Year in the ACC?

I’d have to go with Coach K, anyone who can take a team to #1 twice in a season, and keep the level of play up after losing the nation’s #1 recruit to injury.

Roy and Hamilton deserve top nods, but K takes the cake.

I wish I could vote twice because North Carolina is twice as good this year as they were last year. ROY WILLIMAS coach of the year.

  • GCQ said,

I vote in Coach Of Year and that is my main man Roy Williams at the University of North Carolina. Tar Heels win tonight and then again on Sat. in Chapel Hill against Duke.

Tar Heels ACC Champs and Roy COY!

After that win 72-70 at Florida State tonight, it looks like Roy Williams will win that award…..

As much as it PAINS me as a loyal Wolfpack grad…I’d have to give the nod to ole Roy…AAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!

As a loyal tarheel fan for close 45 years, how could it not be Ol Roy, case in point;(1)lost a underclassman to nba,(2) the cali twins went back to cali,(3) dismissed his senior top outside shooter,(4) Drew walked out on the team, (5) lost 1/3 of his recruiting class (Bullock) to season ending injury. Became a force within the conference with only 8 scholarship players, had #1 beat but it wouldn’t meant nothing at that particular time. The time is now and as the old Rolling Stones oldie says”Time IS On My Side . . .yes it is . How can it not be ol’ Roy, unless you’re a Bobby Knight disciple . . . . . . K

Word is that Roy Williams has already wrapped up this award and that the Heels will rap on Duke this Saturday night at The Hill.

While I think that Roy Williams did an outstanding job with UNC and deserves much praise and respect for doing so, I think that Brad Brownell from Clemson deserves to be the ACC coach of the year. Clemson lost Trevor Booker as well as their best pure shooters from last season. Their coach is in his first season and installed a new system while having only nine scholarship players, which only one was a McDonalds High School All American. The national media was talking this up unlike the North Carolina media here. The same media that is at the service of UNC and the other Tobacco Road schools. What a joke!!!
