Southeast Guilford-Northern Guilford went 11 innings last night…..

We have been talking about this game since last evening and one part of the equation that we have been leaving out, is that the game at Northern Guilford went 11 innings….5 runs by Southeast Guilford in the top of the 11th to go on and win the contest….Definitely a pitching duel through 10 innings….A mighty tight game, for game one of the regular season….Here are some of the totals from that game courtesy of the SEG Falcons…..

(Southeast Guilford) with 7 runs on 9 hits and three errors…..Falcons 1 run in the first inning, 1 more in the 7th inning and five big runs in the top of the 11th to win the game…..Falcons were down 2-1 going to the Top of the 7th inning….

(Northern Guilford) with 2 runs on 8 hits and five errors….Nighthawks had a run in the first inning, another in the third and then went scoreless the rest of the way….But NG Nighthawk pitcher Austin Hardin held SEG in check through 7 innings of work…

Josh Tobias pitched 3 innings and faced 14 batters. ERA-0 2 strikeout 5 hits

Dylan Shutt pitched 5 innings and faced 17 batters. ERA-0 10 strikeouts 1 hit

Dallas Newton pitched 3 innings and faced 11 batters. ERA-0 3 strikeouts 2 hits

  1. What a way to start the season for both teams. Both teams can grow from this game. Yes, there were plenty of physical and mental mistakes in this game but all can be used as a learning experience. If both teams work on making the routine plays and think situational baseball, winning games will occur. I along with others got our $5 worth. What a way to start the season. Man, it is great having baseball back!

    ps. I was really impressed with Austin Hardin from NG and Dylan Shutt from SE.
