Ramel Graham and Greensboro College within one out of a no-hitter as Pride tops Mighty Macs at WMS

Greensboro, N.C. — Ramel Graham (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) came within one out of a no-hitter as Greensboro College defeated Immaculata University, 6-1, on Thursday at War Memorial Stadium.

Graham, a junior transfer, pitched 8 2/3 innings, struck out 10 Mighty Mac batters, and walked five. Brandon Seibert hit a single up the middle to break the no-no.

“Ramel has worked hard, improved his mechanics, and it paid off today,” GC Head Coach Matt Aker said. “He used all four pitches well–and had good poise and control. I knew he was tiring in the eighth inning, but I wanted to see him get a chance at the no-hitter.”

Michael Manfro (Fauquier, VA/Notre Dame Academy) came in and got the final out in the ninth inning. Manfro also went 2-3 with a run and an RBI at the plate for The Pride. IU’s earned run was charged to Graham.

The Pride improved to 5-9 and Immaculata is now 1-4.

GC plays at Averett on Saturday.
