Kissimmee, Fla. — Greensboro College split its two games on day three of the Rebel Games. The Pride dropped its opening game to Marietta College, 1-3, then beat Mount Union College, 5-0, to finish the day. Kanisha Fogg (Franklinton/South Granville ) got the lone run for GC in the first game, while Rebecca Pink (Apex, NC/Apex), and Kelsey Burkett (Clemmons, NC/West Forsyth) led The Pride offensively in the second game.

In the first game, GC gave up two homers to the pioneers in the first inning, leaving itself a 3-0 hole it was unable to climb out of. Fogg scored on an error by Marietta in the third for GC’s lone run of the game. Brittany David (Concord, NC/Northwest) recorded the loss for Greensboro.

In game two, The Pride bounced back in a big way. Greensboro defeated Mount Union, 5-0, on what was a great overall team effort. GC’s bats came alive in the second inning as it piled on four runs to gain all the momentum needed to get the victory. Pink had three hits, including two RBI, to lead Greensboro offensively. Hannah Pennell (Statesville, NC/West Iredell) pitched a complete game, struck out five, and earned the win. Burkett, and Brittany Teer (Thomasville, NC/Ledford) also had one RBI apiece.
