It’s not always how big you are, what school you came out of, or what your name is……(Seth Simmons and Ben Fultz doing OK for ECU)

I didn’t think that kid from Calvary Baptist, Seth Simmons, was going to anything at East Carolina…..

When I first saw Seth Simmons on the East Carolina baseball roster a few years ago, he didn’t have nothing to show, but now this 5’9 166 pound closer, from Calvary Baptist in Winston-Salem is proving, it’s not always how big you are, where you went to school or what your name is that matters…The kid from Lewisville and tiny Calvary Baptist has something to show for himself and so does Ben Fultz(Ragsdale HS), as you will see on the East Carolina Pirates further below….

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Seth Simmons tied a career-high with six strikeouts and Philip Clark laced a RBI double down the left field line in the ninth as East Carolina (8-3) topped Campbell (6-7), 3-2 Tuesday night at Taylor Field.

With the game knotted at two in the bottom of the seventh, Simmons (1-0) entered the contest with the bases loaded and no outs and retired all three batters he faced striking out the side. In all, the senior right-hander fanned six over three innings allowing a hit and one walk.
