Melissa Gallaher/Greensboro College Lacrosse named USA South POW

Burlington, NC — The USA South conference announced today the weekly recipients of players of the week. Greensboro College’s Melissa Gallaher (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) was selected as the Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week.

Melissa Gallaher (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park), Greensboro – The Severna Park, Maryland junior midfielder tallied 17 points on 12 goals and five assists as The Pride posted a 3-0 record last week. Gallaher also contributed 19 groundballs, 13 caused turnovers and ten draw controls last week. In a 14-11 win over Virginia Wesleyan, Gallaher scored twice and added one assist, six groundballs, four draw controls and two caused turnovers. In a 21-0 victory over USA South foe Methodist, Gallaher totaled four goals, three assists, seven groundballs, five draw controls and three caused turnovers. Finally, in a 14-13 win over Frostburg State, Gallaher scored six goals, dished out one assist, caused eight turnovers, collected six groundballs and grabbed one draw control.
