Rain cools of red-hot GTCC Titans

The GTCC Titan baseball team got off to a torrid start against visiting Catawba
Valley Community College and raced to an early 8-2 lead. However, the rain came in
the top of the 5th inning and washed away any chance of completing the game. GTCC
will continue the suspended game as part of a doubleheader when they travel to CVCC
on 4/13.

For the first four innings, the Titans pounded out 9 hits and plated 8 runs. Landon
O’Dell(East Forsyth HS) smacked an RBI double and a 3-run triple, and Zach Burkhart blasted his 3rd home run of the season. Kevin Sanders(High Point Christian Academy) and Paco Martin also had 2 hits apiece.

The Titans return to action this weekend as they host a 4-game conference series
with Region X foe Louisburg College. Games will be played at Ragsdale High School
with the first pitch scheduled for 1:00 on both days.
