Update on area players’ college baseball numbers(Hudgens, Crawford and Moore)…

A few more numbers that we were able to track down today in Brock Hudgens(Southwest Guilford) at Charlotte, Ray Crawford(Dudley) at UNCG and Alex Moore(Dudley) at N.C. Central…

Brock Hudgens(SWG) worked for Charlotte(17-5), in their 13-10 win over Wake Forest the other night and Brock is primarily a set-up man and his numbers in the Wake win went like this…..Brock Hudgens …1.1 innings, 0 hits, 3 runs, 3 BB’s, 4 K’s…For the season Brock checks in with an ERA at 0.93 in 7 games, all from the bullpen with one save, after giving up four runs, on four hits, with 6 BB’s and 12 K’s, in nine and two-thirds innings….Not bad at all, for his first year of college ball….

Ray Crawford(Dudley) at UNCG checks in with an batting average of .333 in 10 games with two starts, with one double and three runs driven in…..Ray has come through with some key/clutch hits for the Spartans this season….

Alex Moore(Dudley) at N.C. Central comes up with his avg. at .222 with two starts in the outfield over his 11 games played….Sharrod Williams, a catcher, who also played at Dudley, is at N.C. Central and he has seen action in a couple of games for the Eagles this season…..

Clint Moore(Grimsley HS) up at West Point, New York, for the Army Black Knights, saw his first action of the year on the mound in a win by Army, back on Tuesday…..Moore also went 1-5 at the plate in the game, a 13-0 win over Quinnipiac….Moore worked one inning in relief for Army, as he closed things out in a scoreless ninth on the hill….

  1. Another player we want to keep an eye on is Rockingham County’s Bryan Mitchell. He pitched for the Staten Island Yankees last year. Good chance that he will move up to the Charleston SC RiverDogs in the SAL. If he does, we’ll see him pitch to the Grasshoppers in July. He was selected by the New York Yankees in the 16th round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft.

  2. I need to get something up here on him…I was talking to someone about Turkson last night…..
