Jordan Weethee, HPCA’s first DI commitment, heading to VMI(the full scoop)

Jordan Weethee, a 6’6″ 210lbs senior wing from High Point Christian Academy gave a
verbal commitment to sign with the Viginia Military Institute of the Big South
Conference late Thursday evening after an official visit to the campus.

Jordan averaged 17.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game his senior season, while also
making 75 3-point field goals. He scored over 1,500 points for his career.

VMI plays a wide-open system that has led the country in scoring for the last four
seasons. Weethee was recruited as a forward that will guard bigger forwards, but
play on the perimeter on offense to utilize his shooting ability.

“Jordan is a self-made player that has turned himself into a Division I signee” says
HPCA coach Brandon Clifford. Clifford continued “Jordan was a very under-the-radar
prospect, but with the style VMI employs and Jordan’s skill set it is a perfect fit.
After meeting after his visit we couldn’t find a negative about him going there. He
is really looking forward to embracing the VMI culture. It’s an added bonus that he
will be in the Big South and play a lot of games close to home. He is really looking
forward to that.”

Weethee is HPCA’s first NCAA Division I basketball recruit. He will sign his letter
of intent on the mid-April national signing day.
