College Track and Field Results – Guilford Sets Two School Records at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – Guilford College set two school records at the non-scoring Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State University Saturday.

The Quakers’ Taylor Stokes (Advance, N.C./Davie County) ran the women’s 1,500 meters in 5:05.04, some 25 seconds faster than the previous record set last year by Melloni Diem. She placed 42nd in the second section of the women’s 1,500 race.

Guilford’s 800 relay team of C.J. Green, Johnathan Smith, Travis Robinson and Omari Tait (Greensboro, N.C./Page) placed 25th in the predominantly NCAA Division I meet, but set the Quakers’ standard with a time of 1:33.19.

The Quakers’ 1600 relay team of John Michael Chelminski, Joshua Farrar (Greensboro, N.C./Northwest Guilford), Dylan Skinner and Michael Mellinger finished in 17th place with a time of 3:37.42, the second-fastest time in Guilford history.

Guilford returns to competition Apr. 1-2 when it sends contestants to the Florida Relays and the Liberty Collegiate Invitational.
