Golf Results – Guilford 14th After 36 Holes at Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – Guilford College shot 292 Saturday and sits in 14th place after 36 holes of the 40th annual Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Golf Tournament. The Quakers were one of 16 teams to qualify for the tournament title, which will be contested Sunday on the par-72 Gold Course of the Paradise Point Golf Club.

First-round leader Greensboro College maintained its lead in the 32-team field by shooting even-par 288 Saturday on the Gold Course. Greensboro carded a 265 Friday on the par-70 Scarlet Course to open a six-stroke lead. Cape Fear Community College had Saturday’s low round (283) among 16 teams on the Gold Course and sits one shot behind the Pride at 554.

Webber International University shot 262 Saturday, the low round among 16 teams on the Scarlet Course. When combined with their 295 Friday on the Gold Course, the NAIA Warriors hold third at 557.

Guilford’s Noah Ratner sits three strokes off the individual lead at five-under 137 after shooting 68 Friday and a 69 Saturday. Mat Hennick shot 74 Saturday and is at 145 for the tournament, two strokes ahead of teammate Alex Wise (73-74-147). J.T. Thomas (71-77) and Dusty Roberts (73-75) are both at 148 through 36 holes.

Ranked first in the current NCAA Division III polls, Guilford tees off at 8:00 a.m. Sunday in the tournament’s third and final round.

Top 16 teams qualify for the Sunday’s championship round on the par-72 Gold Course. The remaining 16 teams compete in the consolation round on the par-70 Scarlet Course.
