College Track and Field Results – Guilford’s Kosgei Sets School Record at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – Derick Kosgei’s school-record time in the 5,000 meters highlighted Guilford College’s performance on Friday’s opening day of the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State University. Kosgei placed 12th in the third section of five 5,000 races, tops among NCAA Division III contestants. The junior’s time of 14:59.16 shaved nearly 14 seconds off his previous Guilford standard, set last spring.

Guilford’s Johnathan Smith placed 28th in the 104-man 100-meter dash in 11:07 seconds, the second-best Division III time in the race. The Quakers’ Dylan Skinner took 81st in the 400 meters in 51.65 seconds, the top Division III clocking and the third-fastest time in school history.

Both men’s and women’s teams conclude competition at the meet Saturday at the Paul Derr Track.
