What The Phenom Hoops Report is saying about players coming out of the Carolina Challenge

What Rick Lewis from the Phenom Hoops Report is saying about the key players from our area coming out of Dave Telep’s Carolina Basketball Challenge held last Saturday at Raleigh Ravenscroft HS….Rick will have more in the next few days and be sure to keep it here and we will let you know more about the local players that Rick is watching and you can watch for info on how to get in touch with Rick so you can join the corp following at The Phenom Hoops Report……Here are two players that Rick has lined up for you today:

Player: 6’3 Reggie Dillard

Hometown: Greensboro, NC

High School: Greensboro Dudley

Class: 2012

Phenom Hoop Report: What’s not to like about this young man! Dillard has a
fabulous attitude and work ethnic on and off the court. More importantly,
Dillard is a player that doesn’t command or demand the ball at these events
to make his presence known on the court. Dillard has improved his outside
game tremendously, but rarely got the opportunity to showcase this talent
Saturday. He has textbook form on his jump shot and can be a deadly outside
shooter. He is the ultimate team player and can intimidate the opposing team
with his tenacious on the ball defense. Although not a PG, he did showcase
solid ball handling skills and has good court vision in the open court.

Player: 6’6 Montay Brandon

Hometown: High Point, NC

High School: High Point Wesleyan

Class: 2012

Phenom Hoop Report: Montay Brandon is a player that can play multiple
positions on the court. He has good ball handling skills and can take over
the PG duties in a crush, play on the perimeter or post up smaller players
in the post area. His shooting technique and form could use a higher release
point; Brandon is another player that can get hot from the outside if left
open. Brandon is also a very unselfish player and thrives in a team setting.
He has above average athleticism and should be a target of many MM schools.

  1. Montay Brandon starts PG for the Georgia Stars on the Nike Circuit and has more high majors looking at him MM’s , he’s more than just a MM recruit. Other than tht his analysis was pretty straight forward.
