20 thoughts on “HS Baseball Tonight for 4/8/11

  1. Westchester 9 Caldwell 4 Devin Mclemore wins on the mound while Gillespie take the loss. great 4th-7th innings for WCD.

  2. Great game at the Falcon Nest tonight!! Large crowd on both sides. Shutt pitched a solid game and Josh got another bomb to start us off. Lots of nice hitting on the Falcon side at just the right time. Wish we could have finished it but that’s the way it goes.

  3. We’ve got some more out there with NEG, Ragsdale, NWG, SG, HPA, ORMA and others……Let’s hear from you…..

  4. I don’t have the stats, but the Northwest win tonight at Glenn was all heart. Steven Plante got the win on the mound by coming in relief for Ben Schmucker in the bottom of the 3rd with two on. Plante proceded to give up only one walk and one hit with no runs allowed into the 7th when Adam Swim came in for relief to get the save. The Vikings had 14 hits to 7 for Glenn. Adan Swim went 3 for 4 with the stick. Plante ( president of the National Honor Society and a straight A student) will remember this one for a long time. Wish I had more stats for both teams, but maybe someone else at the game can add on. Northwest is now 5-3 in conference. Glenn has one loss. GO VIKINGS!!!!!

  5. Ragsdale 10
    WS Parkland 2
    WP Carstens
For Ragsdale, 2 run HR by Tyler Southcott and triple by Mitch Carstens with the based loaded did the damage.

  6. Wanted to see what the private school talent was like between Wesleyan and High Point Christian. Heard this was rubber match. Wesleyan certainly made statement with 4 homeruns and ending it after 5 innings 12-1. Wesleyan team had solid hitting up and down lineup. HP Christian hung in there for a while, but fell apart.

  7. NEG 4
    ASH 3 final 10innings
WP:Caleb McCann…Harrison Phillips also pitch good
NEG: clutch hitting by Matt Mallaway
good diffense by Josiel Colon who save the game 2 twice

  8. Whats all this about SE and SA being called early….you all were afraid you would melt in the rain. The game was completed. 10-4 SEG over Southern Alamance in 7. sefan, you might have floated 😉

  9. WHHHHATTTTT? I left when the lightning and rain started. I trusted when the Andimeter said it was called. I was afraid my sweetness would be washed away. I will ask for my money back today…if you are not pulling my leg.

  10. Inspirational win for the Whirlies over the rivals in red. DJ Reader got the job done on the mound, defense was solid and the bats got it done offensively. Regular-season sweep.

  11. As hard as it rained, I am surprised that they started that game up again…..There sure had to be a lot of water in the outfield….I saw where the players got the mound covered before the rain hit hard, but that is a surprise that they re-started…..Pretty much the entire lower parking lot emptied out and all the fans were headed down the road….As I got further down Liberty Road it had started to clear off….A lot of rain did fall there last night and this season has been hard to predict….After a thirty minute delay, mandatory when lightning is involved, I would be curious to know how long it was before that game got rolling again…..

Thirty minute delay for the lightning and then the time needed to get the field ready again, what time did the re-start get going and what time was the finish…Looks like SEG added 4 more runs to their total and SA tacked on two more……

    10-4 SEG final over SA……

  12. I wonder if SEG Falcon die-hard fan Cliff Craven stayed around for the finish to this one?

  13. For Westchester Matt Howell RBI double Devin Mclemore 3-4 2B, 3B 3 RBI, 4 IP 3 ER 5K’s; Kelly Patram 2-4 2B RBI earned the save with 3 scoreless IP

  14. Wasn’t sure who got the win for WG Friday night. The starting pitcher was pulled early. Anybody know how many innings to be the pitcher of record in high school? MLB is 5 innings but they play 9.
