SALEM, Va. – James Lee pulled out a three-set comeback win over Clayton Hamilton and helped Roanoke College past visiting Guilford College Monday in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match, 6-3. Lee downed the Guilford sophomore at second singles, 6-7, 7-5, 6-4, and teamed with Jon Roy for an 8-5 win over Hamilton and Tyler Mercier at first doubles.
Alex Lyons captured the third singles match for Roanoke (6-5, 6-3 ODAC), besting Guilford’s Charlie Smith, 6-0, 6-2. Lyons and Chris Migilarese downed Smith and Mark Cheong at second doubles, 8-6.
Ben Nelson won at fifth singles and teamed with Jody Cox for a third doubles win for Guilford (7-8, 4-4 ODAC).
The Quakers close the regular season Tuesday (4/12) at Hampden-Sydney College in a match rescheduled from Mar. 28.
