From last night Dylan Shutt for SEG goes to (6-0) on the season, with the Falcons win over Dudley and he is the area leader in wins and Logan Thornton, from Burlington Williams, connected for his 6th HR of the year and he is at the top of that list with a few others in the area….We got some RBI word last night, but we are still waiting on those exact numbers, to come our way today…Metro 4-A Conference standings are starting to take shape with the top four teams automatically making the playoffs and we have 1)SEG at (9-1)….2)Southern Alamance at (7-3)….3)Western Guilford at (6-4)….and 4)Dudley at (5-4)….Most of the teams have two conference games to play…..Piedmont Triad 4-A with 1)Glenn…2)East Forsyth…3)SWG….4)Looking like a tie with Ragsdale and NWG right now….I am hoping to get a full update from Mike Ellis over at the Jamestown News later on today….The interesting note is that in Round One of the NCHSAA 4-A playoffs, the #1 team from the Metro will play host to the #4 team from the Piedmont Triad, so you could have NWG, Ragsdale or SWG at SEG in Round One…..Ragsdale will be at SEG on Thursday evening(tomorrow night) at 7pm, for a regular season encounter…..Any of those teams at SEG in Round One would be interesting, but what if it was SWG at SEG in Round One? That would be epic as the bearded relief pitcher for the SF Giants likes to say…..

Lots of non-conference action for today and none bigger than this one at the top of our list:
Northeast Guilford at Western Alamance….Only loss of the season for the (15-1) Rams was to WA at NEG in game one of the season and I believe the final score was 8-7, Warriors…..

Also today we have Southwest Guilford at WS Reynolds 6pm
Northwest Guilford at Randleman 7pm…Randleman 5th ranked 2-A team in the state at the Impact Poll….
Southern Alamance at Page 7pm…The Page Pirates beat SA at SA, 3-2 earlier in the season….SA has lost two games in a-row after falling to SEG last Friday night and then dropping the game to WG at home last night….
Grimsley at East Forsyth 7pm….Whirlies coming off a 14-0 win over Page last Friday night and EF topped Ragsdale 12-0 last night….
Western Guilford at Morehead 4:30pm…..(Rain makeup game.)
High Point Central at Trinity 7pm
WS Reagan vs. Oak Ridge Military Academy 4:30pm…Home game for ORMA and the location will be Stoner-White Stadium at Jaycee Park….
South Stokes at Bishop McGuinness 4:30pm

Some solid numbers for Taylor(ORMA) against a tough schedule…..

On the Piedmont Triad 4-A front we’ve been able to come up with this so far…..
    1)Glenn [7-1]
    2)East Forsyth[4-2]
    3)SWG[5-3]
    4)Ragsdale[5-5]
    NWG?
6)High Point Central and WS Parkland both[1-7]….HPC and WSP split…..

  • Grandpa said,

Depends on the Bats at SWG to see if it carries them far, so far it looks like pitching and defense
