Condolences to the family of T.J. Todd, former Page Pirate defensive back

If my memory serves me correctly, we had this young man, T.J. Todd, on our Football in Focus webcasting show, from the Shane’s Rib Shack back a couple of seasons ago.

Todd was shot and killed this past weekend in Greensboro and our thoughts and condolences go out to his immediate family and his friends from the Page Pirate Football and High School community…..

T.J. Todd was only 20 years old and in his prime his was a prime-time player for Coach Kevin Gillespie’s Page Pirates….Todd was a three-year starter in the defensive backfield and he was a mainstay, on the Pirate defense….

The word was there was an arguement at a party, or gathering of friends and acquaintances and things got ugly and the shooter pulled a gun and fired one shot into the air and then he fired a shot into a crowd of people walking away and T.J. Todd was hit by the bullet and killed…..

Here is his obituary from today’s News and Record and again our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and we felt like we needed to post and say something, since a good young man that was with us, is now gone and he won’t be back….Very sad and you hate to lose them, especially at such a young age……..

  1. For those who may not know the connection, T.J. was the adopted son of Kevin Breland ( Coach Kevin ) who used to coach at Lewis Center and now coaches at Mendenhall MS.
    Go hug your family.

  2. i am so hurt by this , what are our young people of today thinking? I had the pleasure of coaching this young man at page and he was the most likeable student you ever seen.Everybody liked TJ, when i got the call about TJ my heart dropped. i have kids of my own and i just could not understand why? TJ worked at food lion on battleground and he was the reason i shopped there. He was a bright young man full of life and i know GOD will use him as one of his angels. TJ rest in piece and we will never forget you , when ever i see your face that smile you always have will give me the thought that you were so happy and full of life, i will pray for your family , GOD BLESS THIS FAMILY IN THEIR TIME OF HEALING. Coach norris .
