Weight classes are changing for high school wrestling

The 103 pound class, used to be 98 pounds, back in the days when Fred Fitzgerald and James Cook were holding down the spots, and no disrespect to the coach at the time intended, but the weight restrictions for high school wrestling are changing and it might be a little easier to make weight next season…..103 will now be 106 and…….

The 14 weight classes approved by the National committee for 2011-12 are as follows: 106 (pounds), 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220 and 285. Three middle weight classes – 145, 152 and 160 – were retained, although they are 7-8-9 in order now rather than 8-9-10. The largest weight class (285 pounds) remains unchanged as well.

  1. Went in there at 167, lost down to 147 and then came out at 197-200….

If I had gone the pro wrestling route, I’d be managing a Denny’s by now.
