Looking for a Round of FREE Golf? If you step up and Volunteer, you’ll be on/in the Green at Grandover!

GREENSBORO, N.C. – A free round of golf at the Grandover Resort highlights
incentives offered to volunteers for the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf
Championships May 10-13. Guilford College and the Greensboro Sports
Commission are co-hosting the 37-team event at Grandover, one of the
Piedmont’s premier golf attractions.

Local organizers hope the chance to play on either of Grandover’s two highly
rated courses will inspire golf enthusiasts to volunteer for the Piedmont’s
latest national championship event. Available positions include: scorers,
spotters, course shuttle drivers and range attendants. Individuals can work
four-hour shifts on any of the tournament’s four days. Each volunteer
receives an NCAA Championships golf shirt and invitation to a volunteer
recognition event May 13.

Volunteer application forms can be found online at
http://www.guilfordquakers.com/specialEvents/NCAAGolf or by calling the
Greensboro Sports Commission at 336-378-4499.

Volunteers who sign up for three or more shifts are eligible for a free
round of golf at Grandover, listed among “America’s Best Places to Play” by
*Golf Digest*. The free round must be reserved in advance by calling the
course and played on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

Guilford’s golf team is ranked first in both NCAA Division III golf rankings
and qualified for their 28th national tournament appearance by winning the
Old Dominion Athletic Conference title April 19. Another area team,
Greensboro College, is also ranked prominently in the national poll and
earned one of six at-large berths to the tournament field. The defending
tournament champion, Methodist University of Fayetteville, N.C., is another
national power, which also received an at-large berth.
