Southeast Guilford Lady Falcons take Metro 4-A Regular Season Softball Crown:SEG dethrones Southern Alamance

The Southeast Guilford Lady Falcon softball clinched the Metro 4-A
Conference regular season title last night with a 16-1 win over Grimsley. This is their first conference title since joining the conference which in the past has been dominated by Southern Alamance.

The Lady Falcons now 14-4 defeated Southern Alamance twice during the season
which helped them solidify the championship. The Lady Falcons travel to
Central Davidson tonight to take on the Spartans. Central Davidson is a 2-A powerhouse. They have won the 2-A State title three times in the last four years and were runners-up in 2010 to Eastern Randolph. This will be a good warm up game for both teams who are predicted to go deep into the state playoffs.

The Lady Falcons will host Smith on Friday night. This is their last regular season game and is Senior Night. They will honor their only senior Aryn Laws. Aryn is a pitcher/catcher and has been big part the team’s success this year. After graduation Aryn plans to attend UNCC and pursue a degree in nursing.

Nice to be hosting the baseball and softball conf tourneys at the falcon nest. Buy some extra gas and moon pies Buck the city folks is coming to the country. Southern Alamance folks will also need an extra tank to make it over.
