Northeast Guilford playing a game of NCHSAA hold-em and game on hold will continue tonight:WFMY TV highlights from last night’s action with Asheboro

Headed to the bottom of the 4th and got to the bottom of this one…..

Game will start back at 8pm tonight due to the Senior Class Project presentations that the Asheboro Blue Comet baseball players have to do at around 6:30 or 7pm….They will hop in a car and drive to NEG as soon as they are finished with their Senior Class Project deliveries and head to the Rams’ Den and start delivering the baseballs in the bottom of the 4th with NEG at the plate with nobody out and nobody on……

They halted the game in the 4th inning, due to lightning and weather conditions and the NEG-Asheboro game is set to resume at 8pm tonight in the 4th inning, with the Asheboro Blue Comets holding on to a 3-2 lead……(NEWS 2 link to last night’s game highlights…..)

Why they chose to wait until 8 to start this up again, I don’t know……Does anybody know? Haven’t heard or seen an explanation yet, but there has to be some reason…..Why not start back at 7pm or maybe even at 6:45…..The winner is due to play again on Thursday at 7pm and could be playing on Friday and again on Saturday at 7pm……One team could end up playing on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday……At this stage of the season, you are glad to still be playing and in a way, you don’t mind, as long as you are still in hunt….But, wouldn’t it make more sense to re-start tonight’s game as early as possible, with more game activity looming in the lanes down the road ahead???

Maybe the NCHSAA will allow a delay in the next round and start it up on Friday, but I doubt it…..You would be looking at a scenario that would include, Friday, Saturday, Sunday activity, or you skip Sunday and play Game Three on Monday….

Lots of thought going into all these moves and adjustments I’m sure, and we are just here to break it all down………8pm re-start tonight and why, tell me why?????
