Greensboro Swim Association standout swimmer Lexi Riggs(NWG) headed to the talent pools in the Ivy League:Columbia-bound…

Alexandria “Lexi” Riggs will be swimming for Columbia University this
fall as she attends Barnard College at Columbia in New York City.
The Division I Lions compete in the Ivy League and The ECAC.

Riggs, a 10+ year member of The Greensboro Swimming Association and a 2011
product of Northwest Guilford High School, was an All Conference
selection and Scholastic All American in swimming over the course of
her career. Riggs’ academic accomplishments include Jr Marshall,
National Honor Society and a Top 10 ranking in her class.

Kevin Thornton her GSA coach states “I think Lexi made a great choice with
deciding to swim for Columbia. Academics are a very important part of
Lexi’s choice and I feel the Ivy League education along with swimming
for a great coach in Diana Caskey will prove a perfect fit for her.”

Coach Caskey of Columbia on Riggs “We are excited to welcome Lexi to
Barnard College and Columbia University and look forward to her
successes in the pool and in the class room!”

*****Didn’t our old buddy Joel almost make it to Columbia back in the day when he was running a little “Risky Business” on the side……*****

Best of luck to Lexi Riggs, a young lady that has found a way to pool her talents into an excellent opportunity, for a college education…….

  1. Sometimes you just have to say what the heck, PRINCETON could use a man like Joel. Sounds like Risky Business to me Andy.

  2. I was lucky enough to get my GED at Yale and MED at Harvard and then when it went to pick up my PHD(Post-Hole Diggers degree) from Columbia, I ended up down in South America……I attended all poison ivy league schools…..
