Greensboro, N.C.–Southeast Guilford Shortstop Josh Tobias was taken by the Washington Nationals in the 31st round of the 2011 MLB Draft.

Tobias hit .508 with 9 Home Runs and 48 RBI’s this season for the Falcons.

Tobias has a tough decision ahead of him, sign with the Nationals or head to college and play at Florida.

  1. Josh, you are an awesome kid and it is too bad you had to wear dad out getting to this point. 🙂 I have the SEC sports channel just so I can check you out next year. If you decide to go Big I might have to spring for the MLB channels too. You know I am cheap…right? Keep it all in perspective like you have done to this point and you will go far.

    It is a win-win whatever decision you make. It has been a pleasure watching a player of your caliber play the game the last several years. Nothing but the best and may the Lord continue to bless you and your family!

  2. He will be going to Florida. Dropped so far in the draft because he priced himself out of the top 2 rounds. College will do him good and allow him to work on a position change and get 3 extra years under his belt. Hes a real good hitter that will have to get used to seeing quality arms every game in that power house conference
