AJGA Footjoy Invitational Golf Tournament ready to go at Sedgefield Country Club

GREENSBORO, N.C. – – The 10th annual AJGA FJ Invitational is set
to begin at Sedgefield Country Club. The day begins with AJGA
player practice rounds in the morning followed by the FJ Invitational
Junior-Am tournament at 1:30 p.m.

The AJGA FJ Invitational is now one of only two American Junior Golf
Association events that awards its winner a sponsor’s exemption into a PGA
TOUR event. Following final-round play on Friday, the FJ Invitational
winner will receive his sponsor’s exemption into the Wyndham Championship
set for Aug. 15-21, 2011 at Sedgefield Country Club. The Puerto Rico Junior
Open in January now offers an exemption to the PGA TOUR’s Puerto Rico Open.

Yesterday’s open qualifier for North Carolina juniors was
reduced to nine holes due to weather. Due to multiple high school
graduations, only 11 golfers played in the FJ Invitational qualifying event.
Cory Sciupider from Etowah, N.C. will complete the field for this week’s
10th annual AJGA FJ Invitational. Complete results are below:

  1. My boy Davis Womble is in the field. He is probably the most talented golfer I have ever played with and I have played with a champions tour two time winner…….Davis is that good. It would be cool to see him in a PGA event, especially since he is a Greensboro native.
