Edwin Rodriguez Resigns as Marlins Manager – Hyde Steps Up.

The Marlins have been in tailspin. Last week, the hitting coach was fired. Today, Edwin Rodriguez took the sword for the team and resigned.

Brandon Hyde will manage the team until a replacement is found.

    According to a source, Jack McKeon, who managed the team to the 2003 World Series championship, is a name being considered. Another possibility is Bo Porter, a former Florida third-base coach who is currently on the Nationals staff. Porter interviewed for the job after Fredi Gonzalez was let go last year.

    McKeon, 80, is a special advisor to owner Jeffrey Loria. He last managed in 2005.
