Cowgirls dominate Dudley Panthers

Special to Greensborosports.com:

Reigning Girls Basketball State Champions 4A Southwest Guilford, recently
demonstrated at the UNC-Charlotte basketball camp why they are still the team to
beat as they dominated Dudley Lady Patherettes by nearly 20 points. The Cowgirls
were led by their All State players Zena Lovette and Jessica Pone as they proved to
be too much for the Patherettes. The game was never close as Coach Bryan used a
host of players. The Cowgirls have not loss a game since early February when they
loss to a griddy 3A Eastern Guilford team 60-45, led by Stony Brook University
signee and Player of the Year, Senior Guard Miranda Jenkins. The Cowgirls were able
to easily break Dudley’s full court press and used terrific defense to nullify many
scoring oportunities. Many schools throughout the State attended. The Cowgilrs
looked strong as ever, even with the departure of second team All-Area player
Shannon Buchannon and ever present Brittany Connors. The Cowgirls will
continue their Summer League play throughout the month.

  1. Wow !! Those were some strong words “dominated” and “proved to be too much”, “able to easily break..full court press”. Did Dudley lose that much talent that the remaining and in coming girls are not up to speed. Who does Dudley have coming back and new to the program ? Did any of their top girls go to private schools for the coming year ?
