  1. Workouts start tomorrow afternoon(Wednesday) for the JV and Varsity players at Western Guilford…..Coach Harris coached the JV’s and helped with the Varisty at Smith and the Smith Golden Eagles just won a first place spot in the State Games at Winston-Salem last weekend with Tracy Gathings and Drew Williams leading the way….

Coach Harris coached under Bobby Martin up at George Washington Danville and we will bring a lot of what he learned at GW Danville and at Smith to Western Guilford……The work begins now for the kids on the court and in the classroom according to Coach Harris……He said it was interesting that the man he is replacing, Coach Art Wade is a former Smith man that came to WG and so is he and that he had conversations with Coach Wade before taking the WG job…..Coach Harris said it was also something to look at the fact that another former Western coach, Coach Dillard, had been an assistant at GW Danville…..

A lot of connections here and WG AD Jim Clontz said that he and the committee felt that Coach Harris was the right man for the job because Coach Harris understood Guilford County and the Guilford County Schools poliicies that are used in education and in athletics……..

  2. Coach Harris also said he was good friends with Coach Dennis White from Greensborosports.com and Hopestreet Ministries…………

  3. On behalf of the Smith basketball family I want to wish Coach Harris the best (except when we play…lol)….Coach Harris is a great person and will do a great job. Western is lucky to have him.

  4. Best wishes to a prosperous and successful career at Western Guilford.
