WYNDHAM CHAMPIONSHIP PARTNERS WITH UNITED WAY CHAPTERS ON TICKET SALES

from Rob Goodman at 3G Sports:

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wyndham Championship fans have an opportunity to help
Piedmont Triad charities, and all they have to is buy tickets for the
Piedmont Triad’s PGA TOUR event. The 72nd annual Wyndham Championship is
Aug. 15-21, 2011 at Sedgefield Country Club.

For every tournament ticket purchased, the Wyndham Championship will donate
50 percent of the proceeds to the Alamance County, Winston-Salem, greater
High Point and Greensboro United Way chapters. Additional Piedmont Triad
United Way chapters may be added to the program at a later date. To
participate, fans need only visit www.wyndhamchampionship.com, purchase
tickets and enter the “United Way” promo code at purchase. Fifty percent of
the proceeds from each purchase will go to the United Way chapter closest to
the zip code entered in the online transaction.

“United Way-funded programs help children learn and families thrive, build
self-sufficiency and independence, create stronger and safer neighborhoods
and improve the health of our communities,” Jane Liebscher, vice president
of resource development for the United Way of Greater High Point said. “Our
United Way mobilizes the business community, volunteers and 29 local partner
agencies to develop resources and partnerships that address critical human
service needs in Greater High Point. Our focus is on education, income,
financial stability and health because these are the “building blocks’ for a
better quality of life for each of us. Funds from the Wyndham Championship
program will further our focus, and we appreciate this opportunity.”

“Partnering with these United Way chapters has potential to make a very
significant charitable impact,” Wyndham tournament director Mark Brazil
said. “We are all familiar with the challenges we have faced with our
economy lately, and charitable organizations have definitely endured some
difficult times. We are confident that this partnership will bring
significant funds to these United Way chapters, and with the number of
organizations the United Way helps, we have potential to impact a large
number of Piedmont Triad people and organizations.”

“The United Ways in the Piedmont Triad are extremely grateful for this
opportunity to partner with the Wyndham Championship,” president and CEO for
United Way of Greensboro Keith Barsuhn said. “Not only will the United Way
be able to help more people in need, but in particular, the United Way’s
focus on education initiatives that helps students from elementary through
high school will benefit greatly from this support. Our goal is that our
youth get a sound education, develop great skills, graduate and be
productive in our community. We are thrilled to help fund these efforts by
partnering with the Wyndham.”
