CrossOver Promotions bringing week long event to Greensboro, NC
Crossover Celebrity Weekend featuring Allen Iverson
GREENSBORO, NC—CrossOver Promotions, LLC will host a week long basketball camp with
a Celebrity Basketball Game at the conclusion of the weekend in the Greensboro/Triad area July
11-16, 2011. The week kicks off with Camp Crossover 2011 in the Greensboro Sportsplex on
July 11-15. 10-Time NBA all-star Allen Inversion will participate in sharing basketball
techniques with the campers. On Friday, July 15, the event will partner with Buffalo Wild Wings
in High Point to present an Eat Wings, Raise Funds Fundraiser and all proceeds from the night’s
sales will benefit the I Choose Life Foundation. On Saturday, July 16, the Crossover Celebrity
game will be held at Dudley Senior High School in Greensboro, NC. The game will feature
Allen Iverson, and many of his celebrity friends from professional basketball, football and
streetball legends both past and present. “Jared” from the Murphy in the Morning Show, will
serve as the special celebrity host.
Crossover Promotions made a heartfelt choice to host the event in Greensboro after several
successful years in the Hampton Roads area due in part to North Carolina’s rich basketball
heritage and hearty nature of the community that reveres the sport founded by Dr. James
Naismith in 1891.
The camp is for youth ages 7-17 and is scheduled to feature special guest speakers from
professional sports and business community. In addition to basketball techniques, the camp will
teach life skills through sessions on “Choices, Character, Competency and Cash.” The camp’s
director, DeRocke Croom shares “what makes Camp Crossover unique is that we want to teach
young people how to not only be successful on the basketball court but also in life. The life skills
sessions are a critical component in helping us to accomplish this task.”

Iverson expresses “I am excited to have the opportunity to be a part of this worthwhile event in
the city of Greensboro. I always enjoy sharing the ups and downs of my experiences with young
people. As always, anything I can do to help the community is time well spent for me.” Iverson
has supported various community efforts since entering the National Basketball Association as
number one pick in one of the best drafts in league history in 1996.
A portion of the proceeds of this event will benefit I Choose Life Campaign. The I Choose Life
Campaign was established to raise awareness on the importance of learning how to experience
life the right way. So often we hear of tragic events that happen where young people lose their
lives as a result of the decisions they make. But we have to do more than just shake our heads
when tragedies like this happen-the I Choose Life Campaign is taking a step in that direction. For
