Northwest Guilford High School Partners with Wounded Warrior Project Football for Our Fighters Themed Game to Benefit Charity

GREENSBORO, NC – Northwest Guilford High School today announced its partnership with the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), a not-for-profit organization that provides programs and services for injured service members and their families. The two have joined forces to recognize the sacrifices made by those who have served and those that continue to serve in our nation’s Armed Forces.

On Friday, August 26th, at 7:30pm, the Northwest Guilford Vikings will take on the Western Guilford Hornets in their first home football game of the season. In honor of our troops, we will host a benefit to raise monies to purchase WWP packs designed to make a hospital stay more comfortable. Wounded service members receive backpacks as they arrive at military trauma units across the United States. This is a small way to make our Warriors more comfortable and show them we appreciate their sacrifices and bravery.

The NW Guilford Football team & Football boosters are organizing the game day events. A pre-game tailgate will be held prior to kickoff. The Marine Corps League will be presenting colors prior to the playing of the National Anthem.

Any high school or sports team can organize this type of program to help raise funds for this important charity. Besides supporting the charity itself, an event like this generates huge school morale and camaraderie spanning all grade levels.
