To count the game or not count the game? That is the question with Cleveland HS vs. North Johnston

from Nick Stevens at the HSOT.com at www.wralsportsfan.com:

Back on last Friday August 19, Cleveland traveled to North Johnston in the 2011 season opener. The Rams led North Johnston 21-20 in the third quarter when the game was stopped for a lightning delay.

After a conversation between game officials, coaches and athletic directors, the game was called. Both teams agreed that the game would not be completed at a later date, but also agreed that the game would not count as a win or loss for either team.

There have been reports that rules will require the game to count since the teams were in the third quarter. However, N.C. High School Athletic Association Deputy Commissioner Que Tucker told HighSchoolOT.com in an e-mail Saturday evening that she is hoping to be able to clarify the situation today(Sunday).
