Mid-Atlantic NTIS Team Rosters Announced
Area Players One Step Closer To Being Selected For 2012 National Team Trials
CHARLOTTE, NC —The USA Baseball Mid-Atlantic National Team Identification Series (NTIS) Team is pleased to announce this year’s Rosters. The NTIS staff held multiple evaluation events throughout the region’s six states (NC, SC, TN, GA, AL, MS) and has assembled teams at the 13U, 15U and 17U age groups. Camden Williamson (Northeast Guilford Middle School), of Greensboro, North Carolina, along with others from the area has been selected to represent the Mid-Atlantic region at the National Training Complex in September.
“We are very excited about the teams at each of the three age groups that we were able to put together for Team Mid-Atlantic”, said Jeff Schaefer, Mid-Atlantic NTIS Regional Director. Schaefer added, “After evaluating over 300 players in five states we believe we have found the cream of the crop and are looking forward to showing everyone what baseball in our region is all about.”
Team Mid-Atlantic will travel to Cary, NC on September 9th to compete in the 2011 USA Baseball NTIS. Teams at the 17U and 15U age groups will play a total of three nine-inning games, while the 13U age group will feature four seven-inning games.
USA Baseball will name a minimum of eight players to the 2012 18U National Team Trials (18U); a minimum of eight players to the 2012 16U National Team Trials (16U); and a minimum of 16 players to the 2012 14U National Team Trials. While the NTIS is designed to supplement the existing programming being done at the 18U and 16U age groups, it will constitute the primary identification opportunity for the 14U National Team.
